Do dziś jest nam ciężko w to uwierzyć, choć minął już miesiąc od porodu. Sugar Plum Fairy Super Charty, nasza piękna suka i wspaniała matka, wydała na świat samodzielnie, bez ingerencji człowieka aż 10 szczeniąt! Do tej pory słyszałam w tej rasie o 9 szczeniętach w miocie, szczególnie w liniach Gorzowska Panorama (Lea Z Ochoczej, która jest matką Sugar miała właśnie przodków z tej hodowli). Ale do tej pory w naszej hodowli rodziło się maksymalnie 7 szczeniąt (właśnie w tych liniach, po Lei Z Ochoczej). Dostrzegłam dość wydatny brzuch u Sugar w ostatnim trymestrze ciąży, lecz mimo to, nie wskazywał na taką ilość szczeniąt. Byliśmy bardzo zdziwieni, kiedy Sugar wydała na świat siódme szczenię a brzuszek nadal nie był "płaski". Długo się wahałam z publikacją tej informacji, ponieważ z doświadczenia weterynaryjnego wśród innych małych ras wiem, że przy bardzo licznych miotach często kilka sztuk pada w pierwszych 2 tygodniach życia. Ale szczenięta mają dziś już 30 dni, są zdrowe i żywiołowe, także spokojnie przestałam się bać, że któryś może nie przeżyć. Sugar wykarmiła je samodzielnie, choć uważam, że w dużej mierze do tego sukcesu przyczyniła się dieta BARF jaką stosuję u moich psów. Nie miała nawet tężyczki poporodowej, co jest częste w przypadku nadliczbowych szczeniąt. Sugar pochłania ogromne ilości mięsa kilka razy dziennie by wyprodukować mleko dla tej wesołej dziesiątki. Od 3 tygodnia życia zaczęłam je dokarmiać surową wołowiną aby odciążyć suczkę w obowiązkach. Po raz kolejny przekonałam się, że te linie to wybitne suki hodowlane (dobre matki, samodzielne porody, samodzielne wykarmianie nawet dużej ilości szczeniąt). Jestem bardzo szczęśliwa, że taki rekord wydarzył się bez żadnych przykrych doświadczeń. Wszystkie 10 szczeniąt to szare "solidy", czyli bez białych znaczeń, dlatego bardzo ciężko jest je odróżnić. Uważam ,że wszystkie zapowiadają się naprawdę pięknie (pod tym kątem szczenięta Sugar nigdy mnie nie zawiodły). Być może będzie dostępnych kilka szczeniąt do dalszej pracy hodowlanej dla innych hodowców zza granicy, gdyż uważam, że zdrowie, wigor, płodność i świetne charaktery tych linii powinny zostać powielone dla dobra tej wspaniałej rasy.
To this day, it is hard for us to believe it, although a month has passed since the birth. Sugar Plum Fairy Super Charty, our beautiful female dog and great mother, gave birth to 10 puppies on her own, without human intervention! So far I have heard about 9 puppies in the litter in this breed, especially in the Gorzowska Panorama lines (Lea Z Ochoczej, who is Sugar's mother, had ancestors from this breeding). But so far in our kennel a maximum of 7 puppies have been born (just in these lines, after Lea Z Ochoczej). I noticed a rather prominent belly in Sugar in the last trimester of pregnancy, but still, he did not indicate that number of puppies. We were very surprised when Sugar gave birth to her seventh puppy and the tummy was still not "flat". I hesitated for a long time with the publication of this information, because I know from my veterinary experience among other small breeds that with many litters, it is often a few litters in the first 2 weeks of life. But the puppies are now 30 days old, healthy and lively, so I calmly stopped being afraid that one of them might not survive. Sugar fed them on her own, although I believe that the BARF diet that I use for my dogs contributed largely to this success. She didn't even have postpartum tetany, which is common with overtime puppies. Sugar eats huge amounts of meat several times a day to produce milk for these happy ten. From the age of 3 weeks, I started feeding them raw beef to relieve the bitch of her duties. Once again I found out that these lines are outstanding breeding female dogs (good mothers, independent births, self-feeding of even a large number of puppies). I am very happy that such a record happened without any unpleasant experiences. All 10 puppies are gray "solids", meaning no white markings, so it is very difficult to tell them apart. I think that all of them are going to be really beautiful (Sugar puppies have never let me down in this respect). Perhaps there will be a few puppies available for further breeding work for other breeders from abroad as I believe that the health, vigor, fertility and great characters of these lines should be replicated for the sake of this great breed.
